In recognition of June as the Month of Patriots and Veterans, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will conduct a "security field trip" on June 25 for security officers and related personnel.
This field trip was designed to help junior public officials and security officers establish a correct perspective on security and the nation, as well as to strengthen their security awareness. The program focuses on recognizing the importance of national security sites and enhancing understanding of real security situations.
Approximately 50 participants, including security officers from various departments of the Office of Education and other interested staff, will join the field trip. The main destinations are the Imjingak area in Paju and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Future Unification Education Center.
First, in the morning, participants will experience the DMZ Sky Gondola at Imjingak, followed by visits to the Imjingang Peace Observatory and the Peace Lighthouse. In the afternoon, at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Future Unification Education Center, which opened this year, they will attend a security and unification lecture by an instructor who is a North Korean defector and tour the exhibition hall.
An official from the Office of Education stated, "We expect that this field trip, held in connection with the Ulchi Exercise scheduled for August, will raise participants' awareness of the changing security environment and provide an opportunity for public officials to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of national security."
