Gyeonggi Province will hold an 'Urban Regeneration Talk Concert' in Gwangmyeong this month.
The Gyeonggi Urban Regeneration Support Center announced on the 24th that it will host a talk concert on the 26th at the Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Service Lab in Gwangmyeong to discuss environmentally friendly urban regeneration strategies.
The Urban Regeneration Support Center is an organization operated by Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation under commission from Gyeonggi Province, and is responsible for promoting urban regeneration projects in old downtown areas across different regions.
At this talk concert, the Urban Regeneration Support Center will discuss the theme of 'Creating Eco-Friendly Spaces and Ecological Restoration of Cities.' The agenda includes: examples of ecological restoration such as creating green spaces by utilizing idle spaces in old downtowns; domestic and international cases of urban regeneration using ecological restoration and resources; and strategies for creating eco-friendly spaces and restoring urban ecology in old city centers.
The Urban Regeneration Support Center plans to identify a variety of topics and hold a total of five talk concerts by November. At the end of the year, it will also host a meeting with local residents to share the outcomes of the talk concerts.
Kim Tae-su, head of the Urban Regeneration Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This talk concert will be an opportunity to newly establish the direction of urban regeneration from an ecological perspective for a sustainable city," adding, "We will continue to develop region-specific urban regeneration strategies through a variety of topics in the future."
