Gyeonggi Province Expands 'Donation Kiosks' to 9 Locations... Donations Starting from 1,000 Won Possible

Gyeonggi Province will expand its 'donation kiosks,' which allow donations via credit card and simple payment methods, to a total of nine locations.

On June 24, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold a ceremony to unveil the donation kiosk at Paju City Hall on July 3. Currently, there are donation kiosks in eight locations within the province: Hanam, Yangju, Osan, Anseong, Yongin, Pocheon, Anyang, and Goyang.

The donation kiosks enable users to make donations through credit card and simple payment systems using a touchscreen. Micro-donations starting from 1,000 won are possible, allowing anyone to participate in sharing without burden. Donors can also take a certification photo of their donation. Donation certificates can be sent to mobile devices and shared with others through various social networking services (SNS).

The Gyeonggi Social Welfare Council operates the kiosks, and the social welfare councils of the nine cities and counties are responsible for their operation. Donations are managed with the cooperation of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea (Sarangui Yeolmae) and will be used to support vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities in the province, as well as neighbors in need.

Kim Hana, Director of Welfare at Gyeonggi Province, said, "We expect that easy participation in donations and donation certification photos will help spread positive influence widely," and added, "We hope that the donation kiosks will serve as a 'priming water' to make sharing a part of everyday life."
