Gyeongbuk Development Corporation Conducts Rural Volunteer Activities in Wonri, Andong and Nosang-ri, Yecheon

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jaehyuk) conducted volunteer activities on June 20, 2025, in celebration of "June Sharing Practice Month." The activities were carried out in villages in Iljik-myeon, Andong City, and Nosang-ri, Yecheon-eup, Yecheon-gun, with the aim of supporting community recovery and improving residential environments.


This volunteer initiative included supporting onion harvesting for farming households in Wonri Village, Iljik-myeon, Andong City, who are struggling due to wildfire damage, as well as environmental improvement activities such as installing solar-powered wall lights in the Nosang-ri area of Yecheon-eup. Despite the hot weather, employees of the corporation worked hard and demonstrated warm-hearted sharing for the local community.

In particular, the rural volunteer work in Andong was part of the "Hanmaeum Rural Labor Support Day" event, organized in partnership with Gyeongbuk Nonghyup, with which the corporation has a social contribution agreement. Over 150 people participated, including employees of the corporation, Gyeongbuk Nonghyup, local women's organizations, and volunteers, helping to alleviate the labor shortage for farmers and assisting with the onion harvest. In addition, the corporation provided daily necessities to 33 households in the village who were affected by the wildfire.


The environmental improvement volunteer work in Yecheon was conducted as part of the "2025 Find It! Gyeongbuk Happy Village No. 62" project, in collaboration with the Gyeongbuk Volunteer Center. Activities included installing solar-powered wall lights and other efforts to improve residential environments. The combination of volunteers' talent donations and the active participation of village residents contributed to strengthening the sense of community and improving living conditions for the residents.


Previously, on April 16, 2025, the corporation visited a temporary shelter for wildfire victims in Andong, offering comfort and distributing snacks as part of their volunteer activities.


Lee Jaehyuk, President of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, stated, "We hope that this volunteer activity goes beyond simple support and provides practical help to local residents affected by wildfires. We also hope that the efforts of our employees will contribute to the swift recovery of daily life for the community. The corporation will continue to show ongoing interest in and provide support for the local community in the future."
