Dongducheon City Council Closes 1st Regular Session... 22 Agenda Items Including Settlement Approval Passed as Originally Proposed

The Dongducheon City Council (Chairman Kim Seungho) announced on the 23rd that it has concluded the schedule of the 338th Dongducheon City Council 1st Regular Meeting, which was held for a total of 19 days from the 2nd to the 20th.

During this regular session, the Special Committee on Administrative Affairs Audit (Chairman Hwang Juryong) finalized and approved the report on the administrative affairs audit conducted on the executive branch (213 audit opinions and 6 supplementary opinions), and passed as originally proposed a total of 22 general agenda items, including the approval of the 2024 fiscal year settlement and various ordinance amendments.


At this plenary session, the council passed as originally proposed all agenda items, including the following: the partial amendment ordinance for the “Dongducheon City Youth Job Creation Promotion Ordinance” proposed by council member Kim Seungho; the partial amendment ordinance for the “Dongducheon City Sports Promotion Ordinance,” the partial amendment ordinance for the “Dongducheon City Parking Lot Installation and Management Ordinance,” and the partial amendment for the “Dongducheon City Council Meeting Rules” proposed by council member Hwang Juryong; the “Dongducheon City Community Integrated Care Support Ordinance” and the “Dongducheon City Designation of Exemplary Automobile Management Businesses Ordinance” proposed by council member Kim Jaesu; the partial amendment ordinance for the “Dongducheon City Transportation Convenience Promotion for the Mobility Disadvantaged Ordinance” and the “Dongducheon City Citizens’ Nutrition Management Ordinance” proposed by council member Kwon Younggi; the partial amendment ordinance for the “Dongducheon City Support for Disabled Welfare Organizations Ordinance” proposed by council member Lim Hyunsuk; the “Dongducheon City Global Talent Education Center Private Consignment Agreement” proposed by council member Lee Eunkyung; and 10 items submitted by the executive branch.


However, the “Dongducheon City Global Talent Education Center Establishment and Operation Ordinance” submitted by the executive branch was passed with amendments, with the consent of council member Lim Hyunsuk and six others.


Additionally, on the last day of the 338th 1st Regular Meeting, during the 4th plenary session, council member Lim Hyunsuk proposed “landscape improvement around major ICs for city image enhancement” during a five-minute speech; council member Kim Jaesu called for “more careful and strategic promotion of public contest projects”; and council member Park Inbeom requested the executive branch to “shift to policies focused on the resident population.”


Immediately after the closing ceremony on this day, the Dongducheon City Council held an awards ceremony for outstanding departments in the 2025 administrative affairs audit. The Architecture Division of the Safe City Bureau was selected as the grand prize winner, the Environmental Protection Division of the Economic and Environmental Bureau as the excellence award winner, the Job and Economy Division of the Economic and Environmental Bureau as the encouragement award winner, and the Parks and Greenery Division also as an encouragement award winner.


Meanwhile, Chairman Kim Seungho expressed his gratitude to fellow council members and executive branch officials who worked hard to prepare for the administrative affairs audit and to review and process agenda items during the regular session, and urged continued dedication for responsible policy implementation in the future.
