The animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' has ranked number one globally in OTT viewership rankings.


According to FlixPatrol, an OTT platform ranking aggregator, on June 23, 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' topped the global Netflix film chart for two consecutive days. Since its release on June 20, the film has entered the Top 10 in 93 countries, including Korea, and reached number one in 17 countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Thailand, and Hungary.


'K-Pop Demon Hunters' is an action fantasy animation that follows the K-pop superstar girl group Huntress?Lumi, Mira, and Joy?as they battle evil spirits offstage. The film was produced by Sony Pictures Animation, known for works such as 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' and 'Hotel Transylvania,' and was co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.


Actor Ahn Hyo-seop participated in the English dubbing as Jinwoo, the leader of the afterlife reaper boy group 'Saja Boys.' Lee Byung-hun played the evil spirit 'Gwima' in both English and Korean. Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of the group TWICE contributed to the original soundtrack with the song 'Takedown.'


The film features distinctly Korean elements such as Namsan Seoul Tower, traditional tiled-roof houses, and afterlife reapers, and the English dubbed version also includes Korean expressions like "Gaja" and "Ramyun."
