Dongducheon City Signs Sister City Agreement with Palisades Park, New Jersey, USA

Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Hyungdeok Park) announced on the 23rd that on the 19th (local time), Mayor Hyungdeok Park signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a sister city partnership on exchanges and cooperation between the two cities with Mayor Paul Kim of Palisades Park, New Jersey, USA, at Palisades Park City Hall.

The two cities plan to share policies and promote cooperation in various fields, including education, culture, and the economy, based on the principles of mutual respect and equality. They intend to form a task force team within one month and to discuss concrete measures for practical cooperation, such as planning mutual programs and specific collaborative projects within three months.

Paul Kim, mayor of Palisades Park, expressed his gratitude for the visit by the Dongducheon City delegation, stating, "Many Korean Americans of Dongducheon origin reside in Palisades Park," and conveyed his anticipation for exchanges and cooperation with Dongducheon City.

Hyungdeok Park, mayor of Dongducheon, said, "We will lay the foundation for practical cooperation with Palisades Park in a wide range of fields, extending beyond education to culture and industry," and added, "We will continue to expand international educational exchanges for the growth of future generations."
