25 Teams in Their 60s and 70s Compete
Daegu Royal and Gyeonggi Nambu Win Their Respective Divisions
The '2025 Yeongdeok Snow Crab Cup National Amateur Soccer Tournament,' which brought together senior soccer enthusiasts from across the country, was held successfully on June 21 and 22 at four soccer fields in Yeongdeok County.
Jointly hosted and organized by the Yeongdeok County Sports Council and the Yeongdeok County Football Association, the tournament featured 15 teams in the 60s division and 10 teams in the 70s division. In the 60s division, Daegu Royal claimed victory, while Gyeongnam Masan finished as runner-up. In the 70s division, Gyeonggi Nambu and Gyeongnam Masan took first and second place, respectively.
This year's tournament is regarded as having contributed to revitalizing the local economy and helping overcome the damage from the large-scale wildfire that occurred at the end of March, as players, officials, and their families traveled from all over the country to the region despite the aftermath of the disaster.
Kim Kwangyeol, the county governor, stated, "This tournament was a valuable occasion where seniors could enjoy themselves in good health and come together, going beyond a simple competition to bring vitality to life and foster unity within the local community." He added, "We will continue to actively support community sports events that span generations so that everyone can enjoy a healthy and happy life."
