Airport Railroad exhibited one actual car of its new electric train at the '2025 Busan International Railroad Technology Industry Exhibition,' held at BEXCO in Busan from June 18 to June 21, and unveiled the technology and design of its next-generation electric train to domestic and international audiences for the first time.
The vehicle showcased this time is part of the nine new electric train sets (totaling 54 cars) being introduced by Airport Railroad to alleviate congestion and increase transportation capacity. The trains were manufactured by Hyundai Rotem.

The new electric trains are equipped with a Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) system, which enables real-time monitoring of the status of major components and allows for preventive maintenance, thereby improving maintenance efficiency. In addition, various safety technologies have been applied, including a wheel disc braking system, plug-in doors with enhanced noise-blocking performance, and an uninterruptible emergency broadcasting system.
The interior environment has also been significantly improved for user convenience. The seat width has been increased from 436mm to 480mm, and door open/close alert devices, air purifiers, and ultraviolet sterilizers have been installed to enhance hygiene and comfort. The exterior features a side line inspired by aircraft wings and a streamlined front design, creating a futuristic and dynamic image.
A total of nine new train sets are scheduled to be put into operation sequentially by the end of this year.
