Customized Consultations in Various Fields Such as Careers, Housing, and Daily Life
Receive 100,000 Won in Local Currency When Linked to a Policy
"We will help you find the youth policy that fits you best."
The Youth Foundation Central Youth Support Center announced on June 23 that, starting in June, it will officially implement the "Youth Policy Entry Consultation" service in collaboration with 11 regional youth support centers nationwide.
The "Youth Policy Entry Consultation" is a counseling service that connects young people with policies or support programs tailored to each individual's circumstances and needs.
Youth support managers at each regional youth support center provide one-on-one consultations with young people, using the youth policy platform "Ontong Youth" and a database of over 3,600 youth support organizations established by the Central Youth Support Center to link youth to relevant policies and encourage their participation.
This year, a total of 11 regional youth support centers will participate in this service, including those in Busan, Incheon, Gwangju, Sejong, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongbuk. The service will be provided to a total of 1,000 young people in these regions.
Youth who wish to receive policy entry consultation can apply through the "Youth Policy Entry Consultation Platform" on the Central Youth Support Center website. They can select the areas in which they need policy linkage, such as career and employment, entrepreneurship, housing, economy and finance, or daily life and welfare, and describe their current situation and any questions they may have about policies.
Based on the application, each applicant is matched one-on-one with a youth support manager and receives two counseling sessions, each lasting 40 minutes, either face-to-face or online via video call. If a policy linkage is successfully made, the young person receives 100,000 won in local currency as a policy support grant.
To improve the quality of its counseling service, the Central Youth Support Center holds monthly online and offline meetings with managers from regional youth support centers. The center also plans to produce a "Youth Policy Entry Consultation Casebook" to share best practices and expand the service to approximately 200 additional youth centers in the future.
Lim Daehwan, Director of the Central Youth Support Center, stated, "Recently, young people are facing not only simple issues such as employment or housing, but also complex challenges including isolation, family caregiving, and financial vulnerability." He explained, "As a result, we have planned a customized counseling service that enables more precise policy linkage."
He added, "Although there is high demand for policies among young people, many do not know where or how to find the information they need. This counseling service will significantly improve practical access to information, and I hope that many young people will not miss out on policies and support that are right for them."
Park Juhee, Secretary-General of the Youth Foundation, said, "We hope that the 'Youth Policy Entry Consultation' service will serve as a springboard for young people preparing for self-reliance and independence to plan their futures and settle into society." She continued, "We will actively support youth centers so that they can become strong channels connecting young people with policies."
Meanwhile, in Seoul (Comprehensive Youth Policy Consultation), Daegu (Youth Counseling Center), and Jeju (Youth Eodream), each region is operating its own counseling and resource linkage programs tailored to local characteristics and needs.
Through these efforts, it is expected that young people will be able to utilize youth policies and various support programs more effectively.
