The Jangseong Drainage Pump Station is a key disaster prevention facility responsible for drainage in the areas of Jangseong-eup and Hwangryong-myeon. It was established in 1990 at a cost of 3.8 billion won. In 2023, the county further strengthened its disaster response capabilities by investing an additional 3.3 billion won to install five integrated sluice gate pumps. Currently, the facility is equipped with a 5,400-square-meter retention basin, three motor pumps, and five integrated sluice gate pumps. When all eight pumps are in operation, the station can handle drainage of up to 32,640 tons per hour.
The recent inspection included a comprehensive check of pump operation, electrical equipment, and drainage channels, along with a simulation drill to prepare for heavy rainfall. County Governor Kim Hanjong stated, "We will make Jangseong a safer place for residents by strengthening disaster prevention infrastructure and improving our climate change response system."
