On June 20, World Vision, an international relief and development NGO led by President Cho Myunghwan, announced the launch of the 'Give a Nice Day' campaign to support children affected by war, in collaboration with model Jung Hyuk and artist Lee Seoyeon, in commemoration of World Refugee Day.
The campaign aims to shed light on the daily lives of children disrupted by war through the 'Haru Bracelet' distributed to all participants, delivering a message to help restore a 'normal day' for these children.
The campaign will run for approximately three months, from June 20 to September 19. Those wishing to participate can apply through the official World Vision website. Existing World Vision sponsors can join the campaign with a one-time donation of at least 30,000 KRW, while new sponsors can participate with a regular monthly donation of at least 20,000 KRW.
The funds raised will be used to provide comprehensive support?including medical care, health, nutrition, education, and psychological treatment?for children in conflict zones and vulnerable areas who require multifaceted assistance.
In particular, model Jung Hyuk and artist Lee Seoyeon participated in promoting the campaign by wearing the 'Haru Bracelet,' which symbolizes a warm connection between children living in war and their sponsors, and by sharing the message that children deserve to enjoy ordinary, peaceful days.
The 'Haru Bracelet' is designed in three colors, inspired by refugee registration bracelets, each color reflecting the situation of children in actual relief settings. Blue represents children registered as refugees; yellow indicates children in urgent need of protection, such as those suffering from malnutrition, sexual violence, or disabilities; and white signifies children who have lost their guardians. Each 'Haru Bracelet' contains a unique number indicating the order in which the sponsor has become a protector for a child.
Model Jung Hyuk stated, "Through this 'Give a Nice Day' campaign, I hope to raise awareness about the reality faced by children suffering in war and to create more opportunities for people to reach out and help." Artist Lee Seoyeon added, "It breaks my heart to know that children are losing so much in the reality of war," and said, "I believe that your interest and participation can become a great source of hope for these children."
Cho Myunghwan, President of World Vision, emphasized, "A single day in childhood is a precious time for children to learn about the world," and added, "One in five children worldwide spends that precious day in the midst of war even today." He continued, "I sincerely ask for your warm interest and participation so that children can regain their ordinary and peaceful days."
Jung Hyuk, who is participating in this campaign, previously donated 10 million KRW to World Vision to help children and disaster victims affected by the recent large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions.
