According to Kumho Tire on June 20, the company plans to strengthen its position as a high-performance tire brand through this sponsorship and to prove the outstanding performance of its products on the global motorsports stage.

Known as the "Race to the Clouds," the Pikes Peak Hill Climb first began in 1916 and is the second oldest motorsport event in the United States. It is considered one of the most challenging races in the world, as vehicles ascend and descend Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains, showcasing their performance capabilities.

The race starts at an altitude of 2,862 meters and finishes at 4,302 meters, with a total uphill distance of 19.99 kilometers. The course features 156 winding corners throughout, making it a highly difficult event that demands not only vehicle performance but also durability and stability in order to finish.

Kumho Tire will officially sponsor three drivers from two teams in this year's event. The sponsored drivers are Dan Aweida and Trevor Aweida from the Aweida Racing Team, and Jack Penley from Sterling Motorsports.

They will compete in a Ford Mustang Boss, an Audi 4000, and a Volkswagen Golf R32, respectively, facing fierce competition.

Their vehicles will be equipped with Kumho Tire's flagship high-performance tire, the ECSTA V730. The ECSTA V730, developed based on extensive experience in domestic and international motorsports competitions, features an ultra-high-performance compound and a robust block design, delivering exceptional grip and stable handling even under high-speed driving conditions.

Yoon Minseok, Executive Vice President of G. Marketing at Kumho Tire, stated, "The Pikes Peak Hill Climb, which takes place under extreme conditions, is the ideal stage to demonstrate Kumho Tire's technological capabilities and high-performance tire expertise to the world. We plan to further strengthen our global motorsports activities and solidify our status as a premium high-performance brand."

Meanwhile, Kumho Tire continues to secure official tire supplier titles at major motorsports events worldwide, thereby strengthening its global motorsports activities.

In particular, last year, Kumho Tire became the title sponsor of the 'KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour,' one of the world's top touring car championships, demonstrating its global leadership in technology and performance competitiveness.

Going forward, Kumho Tire plans to continue enhancing its position as a performance brand by leveraging the technological expertise it has accumulated through various motorsports activities.
