KCGI Asset Management announced on June 20 that it held an awards ceremony for the 'Investment Portfolio Idea Contest' for Hanyang University students and selected a total of eight winning teams.
The contest invited participants to propose investment portfolio strategies using domestic and international stocks, bonds, and financial products. It was held for one month starting from May 7. A total of 23 teams participated. Eight winning teams were selected through a judging process involving university professors and asset management experts. A total scholarship of 2 million won will be awarded as prizes.
The grand prize-winning team, 'NE', proposed a 10-year portfolio strategy for a hypothetical 26-year-old who is just starting their career. The team received high marks for systematically presenting asset allocation, rebalancing, and risk management strategies based on analyses of each country and industry, as well as strategy simulations and back-testing results.
The 'Fantastic' team, which received the excellence award, was praised for providing original analyses of each financial product and for presenting a well-balanced portfolio allocation that matches the intended objectives.
A KCGI Asset Management representative stated, "We organized the contest to increase students' interest in and understanding of the economy and financial markets," adding, "The quality of the submissions was so high that it was difficult to select the winners."
