This event was organized to prevent safety accidents among foreign colleagues, raise safety awareness, and strengthen Korean language communication skills.

The event was attended by Geoje Mayor Byun Kwangyong, Kim Incheol, head of the Tongyeong branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Jeon Sujin, chief of the Geoje Fire Station, Hanwha Ocean's Executive Vice President Lee Gilseop, and Chief Safety Health Officer Seo Seungkwon.

At the 'Global Ocean! Hangul Safety Golden Bell' event, 200 finalists competed fiercely. These finalists were selected through a preliminary round held for approximately 4,000 foreign colleagues working at Hanwha Ocean.

The competition consisted of three rounds in total. The first round was a true-or-false quiz, the second round was multiple choice, and the third round featured open-ended questions to determine who would advance to the next stage.

The finalists answered questions about key shipbuilding safety rules, in-house road traffic issues, other safety and health activities, as well as topics related to Korean culture and general knowledge.

The foreign employee who rang the final Golden Bell was Ramojon, a 27-year-old from Uzbekistan. Ramojon received the Safety Leader Award and a prize worth 1 million won. The second-place winners (2 people) received prizes worth 500,000 won each, and the third-place winners (5 people) received prizes worth 300,000 won each. Various other awards were also given.

Ramojon said, "I think this will be even more memorable because I was able to participate myself," and added, "I will continue to work on spreading safety rules to my foreign colleagues on site."

A Hanwha Ocean representative stated, "We hope that this participatory event, tailored to the perspective of our foreign colleagues, will encourage them to take a more active interest in safety and put it into practice."

Hanwha Ocean is continuing its efforts to communicate actively by holding regular safety training and ongoing meetings for foreign colleagues. At the same time, the company provides a basic safety guidebook translated into nine languages and produces easy-to-understand pictogram safety and health signs, constantly striving to ensure a safe shipyard life for foreign colleagues.
