Renewal Opening of Apgujeong Cooking Library
A Culinary Space to Eat, Read, and Cook
Expanded Dining Services and Creative Cooking Programs for All
Hyundai Card announced on June 20 that it has renovated the Cooking Library located in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The company aims to present the essence of gourmet culture, maximizing members' culinary experiences and providing inspiration for everyday life.
The library, which opened in 2017, is a multi-purpose culinary space. It houses around 12,000 cookbooks featuring recipes from renowned chefs and food cultures from various countries. Visitors can also cook for themselves.
The space is designed under the theme of "a place to eat, read, and cook," allowing members to enjoy in-depth experiences.
The venue combines a restaurant for savoring gourmet delights, a library for discovering new recipes, and a friendly kitchen for hands-on cooking?all in one place.
Through the renovation, Hyundai Card plans to expand its dining services and strengthen the library's identity as a space where anyone can enjoy gourmet experiences. The company will collaborate with food and beverage (F&B) brands to create a variety of programs that inspire culinary creativity.
The "Deli" on the first floor has been designed as a casual dining space open to both Hyundai Card members and non-members. It offers premium casual dining menus available exclusively at the library.
The menu features 15 items, including the "Pastrami Nova Sandwich" with oak-smoked beef pastrami and sauerkraut, and the "Cacio e Pepe Pizza," a Roman-style cheese pizza reinterpreted with authentic Italian cacio e pepe sauce, high-quality cheese, and pepper.
The cooking programs will be expanded. These include the "Self Cooking" program, where participants follow recipes from the cookbooks, and the "Delicious Cooking" program, featuring chefs who appeared on the Netflix cooking competition show "Heukbaek Yorisawa."
For one month after reopening, a "Saturday Pop-up" will be held every Saturday, featuring trendy F&B brands.
On June 28, the "Saturday Market," a gourmet marketplace selling various products such as alcoholic beverages and ingredients, will be held. Under the theme "Champagne and White Wine for Summer," more than 40 brands will be introduced.
A Hyundai Card representative stated, "As customer interest in gourmet experiences continues to grow, we plan to offer a variety of events through the library in the future."
