Hongje 1 District Ownership Transfer Notice... Seodaemun District's Swift Administration Resolves Property Rights Issues

Ownership Transfer Notice Completed
Just Two Months After Maintenance Plan Amendment Announcement

On June 19, the Seodaemun District Office in Seoul announced that it had completed the "public notice of ownership transfer" for the Hongje 1 Housing Reconstruction and Maintenance Project Zone (Hongje 1 District) in Hongje-dong, where the Seodaemun Prugio Central Park Apartment is located, on June 18. This has resolved the inconvenience residents faced in exercising their property rights. As a result, residents are now able to conduct property transactions such as sales and loans.

The Hongje 1 District (around 57-5 Hongje-dong) received approval for the completion of 10 apartment buildings with 832 units in July 2023. However, the processing of the ownership transfer notice was delayed for about two years due to the need to amend the maintenance plan. In particular, the prolonged process of gathering opinions from the Seodaemun District Council led to predictions that the issue would not be resolved even in the first half of this year.

After the announcement of the maintenance plan amendment at the end of April this year, Seodaemun District quickly proceeded with follow-up procedures, including the amendment of the association establishment, changes to the project implementation plan, two rounds of amendments to the management disposition plan, and changes to the completion approval. As a result, the ownership transfer notice was completed in less than two months after the maintenance plan amendment was announced.

Due to the delay in the ownership transfer notice, residents were unable to register their properties, making it difficult to exercise property rights such as sales and loans. However, this issue has now been resolved through prompt administrative action.

Lee Sungheon, head of the Seodaemun District Office, stated, "We will continue to strengthen administrative support and maintain ongoing attention so that maintenance projects, which play an important role in creating a stable residential environment, can be carried out systematically and efficiently."
