The National Gwangju Science Museum announced on June 19 that it had recently concluded the 38th Phil Science Lecture with great success. This lecture, titled "A Journey to the Black Hole," featured Professor Woo Jonghak from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Seoul National University, who provided an accessible explanation of the birth and evolution of black holes.
All seats were quickly reserved in advance, and there was a large number of people waiting on-site for entry on the day of the event, reflecting enthusiastic interest. Participants ranged from children to adults, and the Q&A session was marked by active and lively questions.
Researcher Cho Hyemin from the Science Culture Office stated, "We were able to confirm the public's strong interest in astronomy and the universe," and added, "We hope for continued interest in the special exhibition 'Worlds Beyond Earth,' which is currently underway." The Phil Science Lecture series in the second half of the year is scheduled to continue with topics such as endangered species and biodiversity.
