Leading Improvements in Working Conditions and Establishment of Support Center for Long-Term Care Workers
Seon Guk Choi, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea, Mokpo 1), received a plaque of appreciation in recognition of his contributions to improving the working environment of long-term care workers and enhancing senior welfare.
The Jeonnam branch of the Korea Association of Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly presented the plaque to Assembly Member Choi on June 17 in Mokpo during the 4th Jeonnam Long-Term Care Workers' Festival. Since its establishment in June 2011, the Jeonnam branch has continuously provided training to strengthen the capabilities of long-term care facility workers and managers in the region, conducted activities to prevent elder abuse, and worked to improve working conditions and protect the rights and interests of workers.

Within the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly, Assembly Member Choi has taken the lead in promoting the rights and interests of long-term care workers and improving related systems. In particular, he has actively pursued improvements in working conditions and budget increases to address the supply-demand imbalance of care workers in Jeonnam Province. He has also consistently advocated for the establishment of a Long-Term Care Workers Support Center, seeing it through to realization, and has focused on reflecting the voices of those in the field in policy.
Assembly Member Choi stated, "As our society becomes increasingly aged, the role of long-term care workers is becoming ever more important," and added, "I will continue to listen to the opinions from the field and do my utmost to ensure that long-term care workers can work in better conditions."
