Establishing a Complex Space for Migratory Bird Habitats and Ecological Experiences
Hyundai Motor Company announced on June 18 that it will actively participate in the restoration of the Asan ecosystem in collaboration with Asan City and the Korea Environmental Preservation Agency.
On the same day, an inauguration ceremony for the ecological park, part of the "Public-Private Partnership for Natural Environment Restoration and Biodiversity Enhancement Project," was held in Seonjang-myeon, Asan, Chungcheongnam-do. The event was attended by Kim Ilbeom, Executive Vice President and GPO of Hyundai Motor Company, Jung Sangik, Head of Hyundai Motor Company's Safety Planning Division, Cho Ilgyo, Deputy Mayor of Asan City, Shin Jinsu, President of the Korea Environmental Preservation Agency, as well as over 100 project stakeholders and local residents.
The ecological park will be established as a complex ecological service space, integrating migratory bird habitats and observation areas, ecological learning centers and gardens, as well as spaces for ecological experiences and education.
This project is part of the "Agreement for Natural Environment Restoration and Biodiversity Enhancement" signed in December 2024 between Hyundai Motor Company, Asan City, and the Korea Environmental Preservation Agency. Its purpose is to restore damaged migratory bird habitats and to create ecological learning spaces.
Kim Ilbeom, Executive Vice President, stated, "Through Hyundai Continue, Hyundai Motor Company is constantly considering and practicing its responsibility toward the environment and future generations. Moving forward, we will actively participate in a variety of social contribution activities for a better future, including biodiversity, resource circulation, and carbon neutrality."
Meanwhile, in January 2022, Hyundai Motor Company announced its global Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiative, "Hyundai Continue," which focuses on three key areas: eco-friendliness, mobility, and future generations. The company has since been carrying out a variety of activities both domestically and internationally to promote sustainable management.
