Gwangju Office of Education and Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany Sign Educational Exchange Agreement

Promoting Student and Teacher Exchanges
and Enhancing Language Education

The Gwangju Office of Education announced on June 18 that it had signed a joint letter of intent for educational exchange with the Ministry of Education of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, via an online meeting on June 17. This agreement was pursued with the aim of strengthening educational cooperation between the two institutions and expanding international exchanges.

Under the agreement, both sides plan to cooperate in various areas, including online and in-person exchanges between students and teachers, international sister school partnerships, mutual exchanges and welcoming support for educational delegations, sharing information in the fields of educational administration and supervision, and promoting Korean and German language education. Through these efforts, the Gwangju Office of Education aims to broaden educational exchanges with cities around the world, providing students and teachers with a wide range of international exchange opportunities.


Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to establish a new model for international educational exchange aimed at innovative educational development," adding, "I hope it will provide a practical foundation for Gwangju students to grow into global leaders equipped with the competencies of democratic citizens of the world."
