Possibility of U.S. Involvement in Military Operation on Iran's Uranium Enrichment Facilities
Trump: "We Know Where the Supreme Leader Is Hiding"
On June 17 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump held a National Security Council (NSC) meeting regarding the Israel-Iran conflict and subsequently communicated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Axios.
According to Axios, President Trump spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu by phone after a one-hour and twenty-minute NSC meeting that afternoon.
Analysts say that the NSC meeting was held to decide whether the United States would participate in Israel's attack on Iran, including providing weapons support. Therefore, it is being suggested that President Trump may have informed Prime Minister Netanyahu of the outcome of the meeting during their call.
The specific details of the call have not been immediately disclosed. Citing two Israeli officials, Axios reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israeli defense authorities believe there is a high likelihood that the United States will join a military operation to bomb Iran's underground uranium enrichment facilities within a few days.
Before convening the NSC meeting that day, President Trump posted on the social networking service Truth Social, stating, "We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' (of Iran) is hiding," and added, "He is an easy target, but he is safe there. At least for now, we will not take him out (kill him)."
President Trump went on to say, "Our patience is running thinner and thinner," and urged Iran to "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!"
Additionally, President Trump claimed, "We now have complete and total control over Iranian airspace."
