Operation of Geochang Changpowon Promotional Booth
Laying the Foundation for Attracting Future Garden Expos
Geochang County in Gyeongsangnam-do began operating a promotional booth for Geochang Changpowon at the '2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo,' held from June 13 to June 22 in the Chojon Park area of Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do. Through this effort, the county has officially begun to enhance its image as a garden city.
At this expo, co-hosted by the Korea Forest Service, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jinju City, Geochang County has set up and is operating a promotional booth themed around Geochang Changpowon, the first local garden designated in Gyeongsangnam-do. The booth is attracting the attention of many visitors.
The promotional booth features a photo zone that faithfully recreates the natural landscape of Geochang Changpowon, where irises and an ecological wetland coexist. This effectively showcases the appeal of Geochang Changpowon as an ecological tourism destination within the city.
In addition, a variety of interactive programs are being offered, including introductions to Geochang’s major tourist attractions and tourism characters, information about the Hometown Love Donation Program, and an official Instagram follow event, all of which are receiving enthusiastic responses from visitors.
Participation in this expo serves as a stepping stone for Geochang County to lay the groundwork for hosting future garden industry expos. It highlights the excellence of ecological gardens to visitors, while also demonstrating the potential for the spread of garden culture in the region.
Pyo Jeongaee, head of the Environmental Division, stated, "It is meaningful to be able to widely promote the ecological value of Geochang Changpowon and the beauty of garden culture through this expo," adding, "We will actively prepare for Geochang County to directly host the Garden Industry Expo in the future and to advance as Korea’s leading garden city."
Geochang Changpowon is located in Namsang-myeon, Geochang County, and is an ecological attraction where visitors can enjoy the beauty of gardens that change with the seasons.
