Gangdong Smart Campus Hosts Special Lecture on 'Metaverse and AI' by University of Georgia Professor Ahn Sunjoo

Gangdong-gu in Seoul will host a special on-site lecture as part of the participatory career and major course program, "Gangdong Smart Campus," inviting Professor Ahn Sunjoo of the University of Georgia, the first Korean recipient of the Kriegerbaum Under 40 Award. The lecture will be held under the theme "The Metaverse and the Age of AI: A Humanities and Social Sciences Roadmap."

"Gangdong Smart Campus" is an online career and major lecture program that utilizes the Gangdong Miraeon digital education platform, allowing students from cities, counties, and districts across the country to attend expert lectures in real time.


This time, in addition to the online lecture, there will be an on-site special lecture where participants can meet the lecturer in person. The special lecture will take place on July 11 at Paichai High School. Professor Ahn, who is the director of the Center for Advanced Computer-Human Ecosystems (CACHE), is an expert conducting research on racial and social diversity. In this special lecture, she will discuss the latest research and social implications in the fields of the metaverse and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as career directions, and will answer questions from the audience.


The on-site special lecture is open not only to students of Paichai High School but also to elementary and middle school students, parents, and other local residents, who can participate by registering in advance through the Gangdong Miraeon education portal. Registration is open until July 8.
