Ulsan City European Investment Delegation Visits HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Oslo Branch

Listening to Local Companies' Challenges and Exploring Support Measures on the 17th

The Ulsan City delegation for European investment attraction, led by Vice Mayor for Economic Affairs Ahn Hyodae, visited the Oslo branch of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries at 11:30 a.m. local time (6:30 p.m. Korean time) on June 17.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has branches in London, Oslo, and Athens in Europe. The Oslo branch is responsible for business activities in Northern Europe, information gathering, and regulatory compliance.

The Ulsan City investment delegation visited the Oslo branch of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to hear about trends in overseas shipbuilding markets.

At the meeting, Ahn Hyodae pledged active support to resolve difficulties faced by Ulsan companies in expanding overseas, following his visit to HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipyard in April and this visit to the Oslo branch.

Ahn Hyodae said, "I am grateful to see our companies working hard for the Korean economy in distant countries. If Ulsan City and local companies cooperate, we can overcome challenges faced locally. If there are ways for the local government to support our companies' overseas expansion, we will actively take action."

Ulsan City is promoting local training programs for foreign workers in the shipbuilding industry, aiming to train a total of 648 people, including 370 from Uzbekistan, 160 from Vietnam, and 118 from Thailand.

On May 26, Ulsan City was selected as the final local government for the Ministry of Justice's metropolitan visa pilot program and plans to implement the "Ulsan-type Metropolitan Visa" system.
