Iran Announces Large-Scale Airstrikes on Israel Using Missiles and Drones

"Fierce Assault with New Advanced Weaponry"

On June 17 (local time), Iran's state-run IRNA news agency reported that Iran has announced additional airstrikes against Israel, involving missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

Kioumars Heydari, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces, stated, "In the coming hours, a fierce assault will intensify with the deployment of new and advanced weaponry."

He further added, "Over the past day, hundreds of long-range drones with high accuracy and destructive power have successfully targeted and destroyed the weapons and strategic positions of the Zionist regime (Israel) in occupied territories, including Tel Aviv and Haifa."

Local Iranian media are claiming that the Iranian military's airstrikes are achieving results. Tasnim News reported that the Mossad headquarters building in Herzliya, a coastal city near Tel Aviv, was struck by an Iranian missile attack.

According to IRNA, Israel's Iron Dome air defense system was hacked, and there were cases where missiles launched by the Israeli military mistakenly struck Israeli territory. The previous day, in relation to Israeli authorities warning the public to beware of fake text messages instructing people "not to enter bomb shelters," IRNA described this as "another successful cyberattack."
