Interbrand Announces 'Best Korea Brand Top 50'
Samsung Electronics Retains Top Spot with Brand Value of 122.187 Trillion Won
Hyundai Motor Ranks Second with Brand Value of 27.9284 Trillion Won
Despite global uncertainties last year, South Korea's top 50 companies achieved a combined brand value of over 234 trillion won, with Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, Kia, Naver, and LG Electronics making the list as the 'Best Korea Brand Top 5.'
Samsung Electronics maintained its first-place position for the second consecutive year, with a brand value exceeding 122 trillion won. Interbrand, the world's largest brand consulting group, held the 'Best Korea Brand 2025' conference at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on June 17 and announced the top 50 representative brands in South Korea.
The Best Korea Brand list is selected through a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of not only the financial factors of companies but also their market dominance, influence, and growth potential. According to Interbrand, the total value of the top 50 Best Korea Brands for 2025 (based on last year's disclosures) reached 234.7717 trillion won, a 9.6% increase compared to the previous year. Interbrand assessed that "despite long-term uncertainties and rapidly changing market conditions last year, the efforts of domestic brands to achieve meaningful results through agile and flexible strategies and continuous innovation were particularly remarkable."
This year, Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor took the first and second spots in the Best Korea Brand rankings. Samsung Electronics' brand value grew by 12% year-on-year to 122.187 trillion won, while Hyundai Motor achieved a 14.6% increase to 27.9284 trillion won. Kia (third place) and Naver (fourth place) also saw their brand values rise by 16.6% and 8.9% respectively during the same period, reaching 9.8283 trillion won and 7.8612 trillion won. LG Electronics ranked fifth with a brand value of 7.8571 trillion won, marking a 40.9% increase from the previous year. The combined value of the top five brands amounted to 175.6621 trillion won, accounting for 74.8% of the total value of the top 50 brands.
Three brands newly entered the Best Korea Brand list this year: Samsung Biologics (43rd), which achieved record-high results last year; Samyang Foods (47th), known for its "Buldak" phenomenon; and Yanolja (50th). These companies received high marks for both expanding their influence on the global stage and redefining their core brand values, thereby clarifying their strategic direction for long-term growth.
Retailers also stood out. Coupang (10th) entered the top 10 of the Best Korea Brand list for the first time, maintaining stable growth after posting its first annual profit in 2023. Daiso (44th), which showed solid growth, rose five spots in the rankings just one year after joining the Best Korea Brand list. KB Kookmin Bank led digital-based financial service innovation and ranked sixth, while SK hynix, which is leading the AI semiconductor market with high-bandwidth memory (HBM), ranked 13th. LG Innotek, which entered the list for the first time last year, was selected as a top 50 brand for the second consecutive year.
