On June 17, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that Gokseongbae Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, the county's leading fruit export complex, has firmly established itself as a top-tier fruit export complex nationwide by receiving the 'Excellent' grade for seven consecutive years in the 'Specialized Agricultural Product Production Complex Operation Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs conducts the operation evaluation every year, comprehensively analyzing export performance, organizational management, quality, and safety of 182 specialized agricultural product production complexes nationwide, and assigns grades based on the results. The 'Excellent' grade is the highest grade and is awarded only to complexes that score 90 points or higher in total.

Designated as a specialized agricultural product production complex in 2000, Gokseongbae Agricultural Cooperative Corporation has steadily improved quality and implemented systematic agricultural management, thereby establishing a solid foundation for the production and export of high-quality pears.

In particular, the cooperative has implemented thorough safety management, including acquiring global GAP certification, and systematically operates every stage from selection and packaging to distribution. It also strives to pioneer new markets through organizational training. As a result, it exports approximately 500 tons of pears annually to overseas markets with high quality standards such as Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, stably earning 2 billion KRW in foreign currency each year.

An official from the county said, "Being selected for the 'Excellent' grade for seven consecutive years is a result of the thorough quality management by pear farmers and their strong commitment to exports," adding, "We will continue to strengthen administrative support to establish a sustainable export base and improve farm incomes."
