Timefolio Asset Management announced on June 17 that it has increased the allocation of Circle Internet Group, the issuer of the stablecoin USDC, to 8.2% in its 'TIMEFOLIO US Nasdaq 100 Active ETF'.
Circle, which is notable for being the only pure-play stablecoin (USDC) listed company available for trading on the stock market, was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on June 5. Since its public debut, the stock price has surged by approximately 400%, attracting global investor attention.
Recently, global asset management firms, including JP Morgan, have begun to adopt stablecoins as core infrastructure. Analysts also note that stablecoins are evolving beyond simple payment tools into real-time settlement-based asset platforms.
According to the US Treasury Department, the total market capitalization of stablecoins is projected to reach 8.5 times its current size by 2028. US government officials share the view that stablecoins will become mainstream in global finance.
Timefolio Asset Management’s increased allocation to Circle demonstrates the advantages of active ETFs that can respond swiftly to the new wave of digital finance, going beyond a simple thematic play.
Kim Namho, head of Timefolio Asset Management, stated, "Circle conducts monthly audits of its USDC reserves through Deloitte and discloses the results." He added, "Circle currently meets the reliability requirements of the GENIUS bill, which is highly likely to be passed soon." He continued, "The acceleration of stablecoins entering the regulatory framework is emerging as a premium factor."
