Implementation Begins on the 1st of Next Month
"Resolving Inconvenience for Residents"

Sunchang County in North Jeolla Province has established a real-time payment system for water and sewage bill payments and will begin offering the service from the 1st of next month.

According to the county on the 17th, the introduction of this system aims to alleviate the inconvenience experienced by residents who previously had to visit financial institutions or the Water and Sewage Department in person, and to diversify payment methods.

Now, residents can easily pay their bills anytime and anywhere using a home PC or mobile phone. The real-time payment system allows users to check their payment history and enables real-time inquiry and payment of regular water bills (for the current month and overdue notices).

In particular, services that were previously only available through phone or in-person applications?such as moving-out bill settlement, name changes, SMS notifications, automatic account transfers, and credit card payment applications?can now be applied for in real time via internet access.

The system can be accessed through the "Information by Category → Environment·Water and Sewage → Water Supply Information" section on the Sunchang County website, and is available after mobile phone identity verification.

A county official stated, "We expect this to reduce the inconvenience for residents who had to visit financial institutions, as well as to lower the burden of additional charges due to lost bills and minimize unnecessary disputes arising from overdue payments. We will continue to do our best to ensure that residents can conveniently access administrative services by diversifying water bill inquiry and payment methods."

Meanwhile, the real-time payment system also offers an installment payment service for residents who, due to worsening economic conditions, wish to pay but find it difficult to cover large bills at once. This is expected to contribute to improving the collection rate as well.
