Sejung Nanum Foundation Donates Four More Vehicles for "Hospital Safe Companion Service," Bringing Total to Nine

Busan Expands Hospital Companion Service for Single-Person Households
Operation System Enhanced with 20 Service Vehicles

Busan Metropolitan City and the Sejung Nanum Foundation (Chairman Park Soonho) are continuing their mutually beneficial cooperation to eliminate gaps in care services.

At the "Hospital Safe Companion Service Vehicle Handover Ceremony" held on the first floor of Busan City Hall on June 17, the Sejung Nanum Foundation donated an additional four vehicles, bringing the total number of vehicles supported to the city to nine. This marks the highest number of vehicles donated by a single foundation in the region.

Attendees at the event included Busan Mayor Park Heongjoon, Chairman Park Soonho, and other officials. They participated in the handover ceremony and reaffirmed the significance of public-private cooperation in addressing gaps in care services.

The "Hospital Safe Companion Service" is a public service in which a companion manager supports the entire process of medical visits for vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and single-person households, who have difficulty visiting hospitals. Comprehensive support is provided, including accompaniment from home to the hospital, as well as assistance with registration, medical consultation, payment, and admission or discharge procedures.

This donation will make a practical contribution by addressing the shortage of vehicles due to increased demand and improving access to the service. With this donation from the Sejung Nanum Foundation, Busan now has a total of 20 service vehicles available.

Park Soonho, Chairman of the Sejung Nanum Foundation, said, "I am pleased to once again participate in this meaningful project that helps citizens lead healthy daily lives," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in sharing for an inclusive local community."

Busan Mayor Park Heongjoon stated, "I deeply appreciate the Sejung Nanum Foundation's ongoing interest and donations," and continued, "We will build a safer and healthier city of Busan through comprehensive welfare services that citizens can truly feel."

This year, in addition to the Sejung Nanum Foundation, a total of 11 vehicles have been designated and donated through the Community Chest of Korea: Korea Self-Sufficiency and Welfare Development Institute (four vehicles), Korea Ocean Business Corporation (two vehicles), and National Health Insurance Service (one vehicle). As a result, a total of 20 Hospital Safe Companion Service vehicles are now in operation, further enhancing convenience for citizens.

Beyond the welfare sector, on June 11, the Sejung Nanum Foundation signed an agreement with Busan Environmental Corporation for the "Happy Roof Project for Low-Income Households." By improving slate roofs, which contain Class 1 carcinogens, the foundation is also contributing to better residential environments and environmental protection.
