Jangseong Academy to Host Special Lecture by Cartoonist Jungwhan Hwang

June 19: "A World We Dream Together" as the Theme

Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province will invite Jungwhan Hwang, a cartoonist and professor at Chosun University College of Fine Arts, to give a lecture titled "A World We Dream Together" at the Jangseong Academy on June 19.

According to the county on June 17, Professor Hwang completed both his undergraduate and master's programs in Visual Design at Hongik University. He serialized the comic "386c" in the Dong-A Ilbo for 14 years. He has also served as a producer at Geumgang Planning, a journalist and cartoonist at the Dong-A Ilbo, and as an art director at the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

In this lecture, Professor Hwang will discuss the roles and values we hold within our communities, using comics as a medium. The Jangseong Academy is held at 4 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Small Theater of the Jangseong Culture and Arts Center, and anyone can participate without prior registration. The lecture will be broadcast live on the Jangseong County YouTube channel and, with the speaker's consent, will also be available for replay.
