[Special Stock] Galaxia Moneytree Hits Record High on News of Its Coin Listing

Galaxia Moneytree is showing strong gains in early trading.

As of 9:03 a.m. on June 17, Galaxia Moneytree was trading at 15,130 won, up 15.50% (2,030 won) from the previous day. During intraday trading, the stock soared to 15,350 won, marking a new 52-week high.

Investor sentiment was boosted by news that Galaxia Moneytree's cryptocurrency, Galaxia (GXA), will be listed on the KRW market of the domestic virtual asset exchange Coinone on June 18. Following this news, GXA surged over 30% on GOPAX the previous day.

Galaxia Moneytree operates businesses in electronic payments, issuance and sales of mobile gift certificates, and simple payment services. Previously, in November 2023, GXA was designated as a joint cautionary item by DAXA, the council of the five major domestic exchanges, after a large-scale abnormal withdrawal occurred from its foundation wallet. At that time, abnormal fund movements and suspected hacking were detected, leading to investor protection measures, and Bithumb subsequently delisted GXA the following year. Since then, GXA trading has been suspended on major KRW market exchanges, except for GOPAX.
