Dong-A University Signs MOU with University of Central Florida
for Global Cooperation on Sustainable Tourism Development
Dong-A University (President Lee Haeu) is partnering with the University of Central Florida (UCF), located in Florida, United States, to launch international cooperation for Sustainable Tourism Development.
On June 16, Dong-A University announced that the Department of Tourism Management’s Global Tourism SDGs Education and Research Team and UCF recently signed an international memorandum of understanding at the Busan Bumin Campus.

This agreement serves as a foundation for activating global joint research, talent cultivation, and academic exchange, with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a shared vision.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation ▲promotion of joint research and development ▲co-hosting of international seminars and workshops. Based on this agreement, the two universities plan to establish practical cooperation models such as expanding student exchanges at the master's and doctoral levels, identifying joint research projects, and organizing global academic seminars.
UCF is a prestigious public university recognized as one of the top institutions in the United States in the fields of tourism and hospitality. This agreement is drawing attention as an international cooperation platform for sustainable tourism that connects Asia and North America.
The signing ceremony was attended by faculty members from both sides, including Alan Fyall, Vice Provost of UCF, David Kwon, Head of the Department of Hospitality Services, Professor Song Hyeongju, and Professor Choi Kyuhwan from Dong-A University's Department of Tourism Management, reaffirming their commitment to mutual exchange.
Professor Choi Kyuhwan, head of the Global Tourism SDGs Education and Research Team, stated, "This agreement is a very important starting point for considering the sustainability and future strategies of the tourism industry," adding, "We will make substantial contributions to joint research and the cultivation of global talent in the future."
Dong-A University has recently been actively promoting education and research models that link the tourism industry with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and with this agreement, the university aims to become a global hub for tourism studies with international influence.
