Gyeonggi Province will provide a cash grant of 1 million won to young newlywed couples.
On June 17, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will implement the "Gyeonggi Youth Marriage Support Project," selecting a total of 2,650 couples and providing each with a cash grant of 1 million won to help alleviate the financial burden on young newlyweds and support their stable livelihoods.
The Gyeonggi Youth Marriage Support Project is a participatory budgeting initiative proposed by a youth participation group and finalized through the review of the Youth Policy Coordination Committee.
Gyeonggi Province will accept applications from August 1 to August 29 via Gyeonggi Minwon 24 (gg24.gg.go.kr).
Eligible applicants must meet all four of the following criteria as of the application date: both spouses must be registered residents of Gyeonggi Province; both must be youth born between January 1, 1985 and December 31, 2006; the couple must have completed their marriage registration on or after January 1, 2025; and their combined household income for 2024 must not exceed 80 million won.
Recipients will be selected based on the couple's period of residence in Gyeonggi Province over the past five years and their combined household income in the previous year.
Gyeonggi Province will provide the selected couples with the Gyeonggi Youth Marriage Support Grant of 1 million won in November.
