After signing a commission contract with Yeoju City in November 2024, Yeoju Urban Corporation began construction in December of the same year. After approximately five months of work, the project was completed on May 29.

This project marks the first commissioned project in which Yeoju Urban Corporation has carried out an urban infrastructure project delegated by Yeoju City. It is being recognized as an achievement that demonstrates the corporation's project execution capabilities both internally and externally.

By successfully completing the Rural New Vitality Plus Project, which is a national policy initiative, expectations and confidence are rising for other ongoing commissioned projects in the future.

The cold storage facility, built with a total project cost of 1.8 billion KRW, is equipped with the latest refrigeration systems, allowing Yeoju's main agricultural products?such as rice, sweet potatoes, and strawberries?to be stored under optimal conditions. As a result, the storage period for these agricultural products will be extended and quality loss will be reduced, which is expected to significantly contribute to stabilizing farmers' incomes and strengthening the competitiveness of local agriculture.

This facility was constructed as part of the Rural New Vitality Plus Project and aligns with the project's goals of fostering specialized industries and creating jobs by utilizing existing local assets and private organizations.

In particular, the completion of this cold storage facility is expected to bring various positive changes to the agricultural sector in Yeoju. First, farmers will be able to adjust the timing of shipments flexibly according to market conditions, freeing them from the pressure to sell only during the harvest season. This will help reduce risks related to price fluctuations and promote income stability.

Lim Myungjin, President of Yeoju Urban Corporation, stated, "The completion of this cold storage facility is a new turning point for Yeoju agriculture and a symbolic example of the corporation's full-scale capacity to carry out local projects. We will continue to actively promote progressive projects in various fields such as agriculture, welfare, and industry in collaboration with the citizens of Yeoju."

Meanwhile, in addition to the cold storage facility project, Yeoju Urban Corporation is simultaneously promoting various regional development projects, including the construction of the Ohak-dong Cultural Welfare Center, the Yeohaengbok Station project, and the establishment of the Ganam Industrial Complex.
