Effective Safety Training for All Members
Comprehensive Accident Prevention Including Partner Companies
On June 13, POSCO Pohang Steelworks held a special lecture on traffic safety by inviting Police Lieutenant Won Seongseop, head of the Security and Traffic Division at Pohang Nambu Police Station.
This training was organized with the aim of preventing traffic accidents and raising safety awareness among drivers working both inside and outside the steelworks.
On the 13th, a special lecture on traffic safety was held by inviting Police Lieutenant Won Seongseop, head of the Security and Traffic Division at Pohang Nambu Police Station.
Approximately 100 safety managers from various transportation companies attended the special lecture, including not only the internal transportation section of Pohang Steelworks but also POSCO Flow, a POSCO group company, and PortTrans, a partner company.
The decision to include partner companies in the training was made by Pohang Steelworks, reflecting the belief that raising traffic safety awareness among all members is essential for accident prevention, given the industrial site's characteristics of frequent vehicle and driver movement both inside and outside the steelworks.
Police Lieutenant Won Seongseop delivered a lecture focusing on practical topics tailored to the industrial site, including safe driving rules, key inspection points for accident prevention, and precautions when driving on roads outside the facility.
An official from the steelworks who attended the training stated, "Traffic safety is a crucial factor directly linked to productivity and a fundamental principle that must be upheld together with our partner companies," adding, "It was an opportunity to reflect on driving habits that we might otherwise overlook."
Since 2013, POSCO Pohang Steelworks has been independently promoting the 'Good Drive' campaign within the steelworks and plans to continue leading efforts to create a safe working environment for all employees.
