On June 16, the Chungnam Provincial Government conducted an on-site inspection at the Siwang Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District and the Siwang 1-ri Heat Shelter in Yesan County to prepare for summer floods, typhoons, and heatwaves.

During the visit to the Siwang Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District project site, Vice Governor Jeongju Park checked the maintenance status of the river and disaster-prone areas, and requested that the project be completed before the start of the monsoon season.

At the Heat Shelter in Sinyang-myeon, Yesan County (Siwang 1-ri Senior Center), he inspected the operation of cooling equipment, the environment of the shelter, the health conditions of the elderly, and whether the smart village broadcasting system was being used.

To ensure a prompt response in the event of a disaster, the province has established and is operating the Chungnam SAFEZONE, a disaster management system based on public-private cooperation tailored to Chungnam.

This year, Chungnam SAFEZONE has been linked with Smart Chungnamtong, a local-level information delivery system, to strengthen voice-based information dissemination and to expand communication channels at the village level.

Vice Governor Jeongju Park stated, "In rural areas, there is a high proportion of one- or two-person households and elderly residents, which creates blind spots in the delivery of flood, typhoon, and heatwave information. For this reason, we have strengthened the information sharing system," and added, "We will continue to improve the response system for floods, typhoons, and heatwaves, and make every effort to ensure that not a single human casualty occurs."
