Hyundai Mobis Drives Company-wide Business Innovation with Generative AI, Proving Global Competitiveness

Integrating and Analyzing Text and Image Information for Transformation
Outstanding Papers Selected at Leading Global Conferences
AI to Be Applied Across Management Including R&D Starting in August

Hyundai Mobis is launching a company-wide business innovation initiative by leveraging its self-developed generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The company is utilizing AI solutions in a variety of areas, including enterprise data management, productivity and quality improvement in manufacturing sites and research and development (R&D), as well as safety management.

On June 17, Hyundai Mobis announced that its generative AI model, unveiled at the recent Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference (CVPR) held in Tennessee, USA, was selected as an outstanding paper.

CVPR is recognized as one of the world's leading conferences in the fields of image processing, object recognition, and deep learning. Due to its rigorous selection criteria and low acceptance rate, Hyundai Mobis's achievement is regarded as a significant milestone that demonstrates the competitiveness of its AI technology.

This generative AI model is capable of integrating and analyzing text and image information to precisely transform only specific parts within an image. For example, it can alter specific conditions such as weather, time of day, or road type in road footage taken during the day. It can convert a daytime scene into nighttime, or change a rainy day to a snowy one.

Starting in August, Hyundai Mobis plans to apply this model to all aspects of management, including R&D, production technology, and information technology (IT) systems, to accelerate business innovation in areas such as knowledge search, task automation, and image analysis. The company is currently developing its own platform capable of providing company-wide information services.

AI models specialized for manufacturing are also being applied to major business sites. Recently, in collaboration with POSTECH, Hyundai Mobis developed a natural language processing AI technology tailored for equipment control in manufacturing environments. With this technology, operators can input basic commands, and the AI automatically generates control codes to operate equipment safely. This model was recently selected as a key paper at ACL, one of the world's most prestigious conferences in the fields of natural language and computer language processing.

Previously, Hyundai Mobis introduced a safety detection AI model at its domestic business sites to detect workers entering hazardous areas and prevent collisions with robots. The company has also developed and implemented an "acoustic AI system" that recognizes sounds to assess product quality accuracy in production environments.

A Hyundai Mobis representative stated, "We will further strengthen company-wide AI-based management innovation by expanding the recent achievements in AI technology to our domestic and overseas production and R&D hubs."
