Cheonan Yu Gwansun Park Golf Course Opens on the 17th...36 Holes Available

Cheonan City in Chungnam will temporarily open the "Cheonan Yu Gwansun Park Golf Course," which was built on top of the Baekseok-dong sanitary landfill facility, from June 17 to July 14, 2025.


During the temporary operation period, admission will be free. After the official opening on July 15, a fee will be charged. The usage fee will be 4,000 KRW for city residents and 5,000 KRW for non-residents. Citizens aged 65 and older will receive a 50% discount.


The park golf course was constructed with a project budget of 9.85 billion KRW and covers an area of 57,242 square meters on top of the landfill. It features 36 holes and is equipped with various amenities, including an administrative office, an education center, two start houses, a ticket office, 12 shelters, and 176 parking spaces.


On June 16, the city held an opening ceremony attended by Kim Seokpil, acting mayor, Kim Haenggeum, chairperson of Cheonan City Council, Hong Seonghyeon, chairperson of Chungnam Provincial Council, as well as around 100 park golf enthusiasts.


Acting Mayor Kim Seokpil stated, "We will do our best to further vitalize park golf in the region by adding more park golf courses so that not only seniors but all citizens can enjoy a variety of activities."


Meanwhile, the city plans to open the Handul Park Golf Course, which will be exclusively for people with disabilities, and the Kim Simin Park Golf Course in the second half of the year.
