BNK Gyeongnam Bank, "Love Is When Two People Share One Umbrella Even Though One Shoulder Gets Wet"

2025 Summer Empathy Message Board Displayed on Headquarters Exterior Wall

BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on June 16, 2025, that it had posted the 2025 summer empathy message board on the exterior wall of its headquarters so that local residents could easily see it.

This empathy message board features the phrase, "Love is when two people share one umbrella, even though one shoulder gets wet," along with an image of two people walking in the rain.

The phrase on the message board was excerpted from the poem "Umbrella" by poet Yang Gwangmo, conveying the message that one can feel unconditional love through sacrifice.

BNK Gyeongnam Bank selects phrases with high scores from generational preference surveys conducted among employees each quarter and includes them on the empathy message board to deliver messages of hope to the local community. This is the tenth time the bank has done so.

Choi Daesik, head of the Social Contribution and Public Relations Department, stated, "You can feel moved by the sight of one person sacrificing for the other while sharing an umbrella, giving warm love. I hope that seeing the empathy message board will remind people of their beloved family and partners. Going forward, BNK Gyeongnam Bank will continue to carry out various social contribution activities for the community, just like an umbrella that shelters from the rain."

Previously, BNK Gyeongnam Bank had posted its ninth empathy message board, which featured the phrase, "Spring will come again for you, so you can bloom, because you are a flower," along with an illustration of yellow canola flowers along the edge.
