[Photo] Hope Shines Bright: The Dynamic Korean Economy

The manufacturing industry, which has driven the Korean economy for the past 50 years, is struggling to escape stagnation. Various factors, such as the rise of Chinese companies and U.S. tariff barriers, are threatening Korea's manufacturing sector. However, there is still hope. In the first quarter, K-shipbuilding recorded $13.6 billion in orders, a 41.4% increase compared to the same period last year, reclaiming the top spot in global quarterly orders for the first time in three years. At the Hanwha Ocean Okpo Shipyard in Geoje, Gyeongnam, several LNG carriers are being built simultaneously, with lights on and night shifts continuing even at midnight. To mark the 37th anniversary of its founding, Asia Economy captured the night shift scene at the Geoje shipyard in photographs, wishing for the continued advancement of the world-class shipbuilding industry and the revival of the national economy.
