The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pilho) announced on June 16 that it will provide approximately 12,138 sets of heatwave and infectious disease response kits worth 500 million won to disaster-vulnerable groups in order to help them cope with summer heatwaves and infectious diseases.

These kits will be distributed to disaster-vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and the homeless, based on a needs assessment conducted by 15 local governments nationwide.

The "heatwave and infectious disease response kit" is a summer preparedness package designed to help protect health from summer climate disasters in daily life. The main items include a cool mat, cooling fan, hand fan, blackout umbrella, hand sanitizer, saline glucose, multivitamins, and a total of 14 items for heatwave response and infection prevention.

Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, "Climate disasters have become a part of daily life, and heatwaves and infectious diseases are especially threatening to the socially vulnerable." He added, "Hope Bridge is committed to practicing disaster welfare with a focus on prevention, and we will take the lead in protecting disaster-vulnerable groups in cooperation with local governments and related organizations across the country."

In addition, Hope Bridge carried out a volunteer activity to prepare for summer disasters such as heavy rain and typhoons, with 12 executives and employees assembling 1,646 emergency relief kits at the Paju Disaster Relief Logistics Center. Employees from departments such as the Fundraising Team and the Management Support Team, who usually work in office roles, participated in this effort to contribute to practical disaster response preparedness.

The assembled emergency relief kits are stored at the association's logistics center under normal circumstances, and are quickly delivered to disaster victims in the event of disasters such as heavy rain or typhoons. The kits consist of 21 essential items, including blankets, clothing, hygiene products, daily necessities, medicines, and safety supplies, all of which are necessary for survival and daily life during emergency evacuations.
