Distributor Lotte Entertainment announced on June 16 that the movie "Omniscient Reader" (directed by Kim Byungwoo) will be released on July 23.
"Omniscient Reader," adapted from the popular web novel of the same name, is a fantasy action film that depicts the journey of survival in a ruined world. On the day the novel, which had been serialized for over ten years, is completed, the world within the novel becomes reality. The story follows Kim Dokja, the only reader of the novel, as he joins the protagonist Yoo Joonghyuk and other companions to survive in this new world.
Actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Minho play Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk, respectively, with Chae Soobin, Shin Seungho, Nana, and Jisoo also starring.
