The DIT Social Service Group of Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) conducted rural volunteer activities in Seonri Village, Wondong-myeon, Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province from May 30 to May 31.

Dong-Eui Science University formed a sisterhood relationship with Seonri Village in Yangsan, Gyeongnam Province in 2008 through the "one school, one village" program. Every year, the university carries out various volunteer activities such as helping with farm work and environmental clean-up to support farms experiencing labor shortages, particularly during the harvest season and other critical periods.
The DIT Social Service Group, consisting of 38 students and staff members, assisted with tasks such as apple thinning and harvesting in the village's communal fields, helping to address the shortage of labor in rural areas.
Lee Yongjun, president of the student council who participated in this volunteer activity, said, "Through this volunteer work, I realized how much hard work and effort is required before a single piece of fruit reaches our table," and added, "It was a rewarding experience to be able to offer even a small amount of help to rural residents who are facing many difficulties due to recent abnormal weather events and labor shortages."
Kim Youngdo, president of Dong-Eui Science University, stated, "I hope that through social service activities, our students will grow into talented professionals who possess not only specialized skills and knowledge in their fields, but also the spirit of warm-hearted sharing."
