Participation in the UK's Largest Exhibition 'GOW 2025'
Introducing 'PALOS,' Korea's Only Dedicated CLV for Submarine Cable Installation
Daehan Electric Wire has launched an initiative to target the European offshore wind power market, leveraging 'PALOS,' the only cable laying vessel (CLV) in Korea dedicated to submarine cables.
On June 16, Daehan Electric Wire announced that it will participate in 'GOW (Global Offshore Wind) 2025,' which will be held at the ExCeL Convention Centre in London, United Kingdom, from June 17 to 18 (local time). GOW 2025 is the largest offshore wind power exhibition in the United Kingdom, organized by Renewable UK, the British Wind Energy Association. It is a leading global event where major offshore wind developers, construction companies, and equipment suppliers from around the world share the latest technologies and market trends.
Under the theme of 'A New Future Connected from the Sea,' Daehan Electric Wire will showcase its offshore wind solutions, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cable systems, and a model of the offshore wind cable laying vessel 'PALOS.'
The company will particularly emphasize its turn-key competitiveness, which enables it to carry out the entire value chain of submarine cables, from design and production to transportation, construction, and maintenance. Daehan Electric Wire will also present key achievements, such as the Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Power Project, where the company supplied cables and deployed PALOS for installation.
PALOS successfully completed the first phase of external network cable laying for the Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Power Project last month and will be deployed for the second phase of external network installation later this month. Starting in July, it is scheduled to install the internal network submarine cables.
Additionally, Daehan Electric Wire plans to highlight its production infrastructure capabilities to meet rapidly growing global demand by introducing both its first submarine cable plant in Dangjin, which will be fully completed this month, and its second plant, which is scheduled to begin operation in 2027.
Notably, Vice Chairman and CEO Jongmin Song will visit the exhibition in person to meet with major clients and partners. He is expected to discuss ongoing cooperation and business expansion opportunities.
Song stated, "GOW 2025 is an opportunity to showcase Daehan Electric Wire's differentiated total solution capabilities to global power generation companies," and added, "We will further solidify our position as a 'total offshore wind solution provider,' covering everything from design to construction, and continue to achieve sustainable growth in the global power market."
Daehan Electric Wire is gradually strengthening its submarine cable production and installation capabilities to respond to the expanding demand for offshore wind power. The first submarine cable plant will produce both internal and external offshore wind cables and 320kV-class HVDC submarine cables, while the second plant, scheduled to begin operation in 2027, will produce 640kV-class HVDC submarine cables. The company is also preparing to participate in various offshore wind projects in the West Sea and the West Coast Energy Highway project in the future.
