Former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon has drawn attention by revealing himself using a lint roller (dust removal tape) on his face to remove cat hair. Both inside and outside the political sphere, this seemingly quirky behavior is being analyzed as a strategy to expand his connection with the younger generation, beyond his core support base of middle-aged and older voters.

Recently, during a live broadcast on his own YouTube channel, Han took out a lint roller?typically used to remove pet hair from clothes and blankets?and demonstrated using it on various parts of his face.

He said, "When there is a lot of cat hair, I usually use a lint roller. It helps a bit if I do this," adding, "I even use it on my face like this." He then smiled and said, "In my house, there is always a lint roller somewhere."

The video attracted explosive attention immediately after it was posted, surpassing 500,000 views. The comments section was filled with positive responses such as, "As a cat owner, I can totally relate," "He has an unexpectedly cheerful side," and "He seems approachable and likable." In particular, many noted that Han's natural demeanor in the video stood in stark contrast to his previously serious image, which contributed to the positive reception.

However, not all reactions were favorable. Some negative responses included, "Why would you use that on your face?" "This is overproduced," "I thought it was an AI-generated video," and "Is this really what a politician should be doing?" There were also criticisms that his attempts to appeal to younger people seemed forced and were having the opposite effect.

Han's video also became the subject of satire. Lee Giin, Supreme Council Member of the Reform New Party, imitated Han by using a lint roller on his own face in a YouTube video. The caption read, "A lint roller show by an active politician."

Recently, Han has been focusing on so-called "live broadcast politics" to target people in their 20s and 30s. He appears in casual attire in everyday settings such as his car or home, reads live chat messages, and shares his favorite music, food, and fashion preferences, all in an effort to create a more approachable image.
