"Grateful for Reliable Veterans Care"... Daegu Veterans Office Delivers Care Packages to Korean War Veterans

The Daegu Regional Veterans Office (Director Kim Jongsool) has launched outreach activities for elderly national merit recipients in the region in observance of the Month of Patriots and Veterans.

On June 11, the Daegu Veterans Office visited the home of Mr. Choi, a 95-year-old Korean War veteran living in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, to deliver care packages and check on his well-being. Mr. Choi, who currently lives alone, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I feel reassured not only by the veterans' home welfare services but also by the support from private donors."

Director Kim Jongsool stated, "It is only right to honor those who have dedicated themselves to the nation," and added, "We will continue to realize 'living veterans care' and 'veterans care for all' that can be felt in everyday life."

The Daegu Veterans Office will also work to protect vulnerable merit recipients against the rapidly approaching heat waves and localized heavy rains this summer. The office plans to focus on on-site inspections for those identified as 'at-risk veterans during the summer' and to provide customized support, such as nutritious meals and daily necessities, in cooperation with private organizations.
