Cooling Materials and Oak Mats Gain Popularity for Comfortable Bedding
Diffusers, Home Fashion, and Supplements Offered Across Various Categories
As high-quality sleep has become a key factor influencing individual quality of life, health, and lifestyle, more people are willing to invest in products that promote restful sleep.
In particular, during the summer, the number of consumers suffering from insomnia due to tropical nights increases, leading to a rise in demand for products that can improve sleep quality.
In fact, over the past month, bedding sales at Shinsegae Centum City have grown by about 10% compared to the same period last year, while sales of summer bedding products, such as those made with cooling fabrics, have increased by nearly 20%.
Accordingly, each brand is introducing a variety of products designed to provide a comfortable sleeping environment.
First, for a "good night's sleep" during the summer, the Balila store is offering mats made of natural oak wood, and SecondM is offering bamboo mats and other summer season products at a 20% discount. In particular, the oak wood mat is favored by consumers for its cooling properties and the fact that it does not splinter over time.
Products made with cooling materials are also being introduced.
Laura Ashley has prepared products made with "Snowlen," a cooling yarn with high thermal conductivity that quickly disperses heat upon contact with the skin, providing an excellent cooling effect. As part of a summer promotion, Snowlen pads and pillow covers are being offered at a 30% discount.
At the FreshFind store, a special event running until June 30 features cooling pads and comforters at discounts of up to 40%. These products are made from 100% "Duraron" cooling fabric with no filling, allowing for a comfortable sleep experience.
Diffusers that aid restful sleep are also available. Aroma&Co is selling the "Scent Home Diffuser" (500ml, 78,000 won), which features a lavender scent effective for inducing sleep and comes in a dark brown bottle that also serves as a stylish interior accessory.
In addition, Shinsegae's own lifestyle brand JAJU is introducing a new pajama set made from seersucker fabric that does not cling to the skin, providing high-quality sleep. Since June 11, the brand has also started offering a service that allows customers to have their initials embroidered on the product for an additional 3,000 won, bringing a small pleasure to consumers seeking to express their individuality.
Furthermore, health brands such as Dr.Elizabeth, Nutricore, and Health Beverage are introducing products containing "plant-based melatonin." Classified as a general food product, plant-based melatonin is extracted from fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes and is known as the "sleep hormone." It is favored by consumers who are hesitant to take sleep medications or pharmaceuticals.
Ma Dongsoo, head of the lifestyle team at Shinsegae Centum City, stated, "We have prepared a wide range of products in response to the growing demand for investment in restful sleep, and we will continue to introduce product plans that align with sleep trends in the future."
