The Democratic Party of Korea stated on June 15 that, following the distribution of anti-North Korea leaflets by a private organization in Ganghwado the previous day, it "urges the relevant authorities to take strict action."
Hwang Jeonga, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, criticized in a written briefing on the same day, saying, "The distribution of anti-North Korea leaflets is a harmful and illegal act that threatens the daily lives and safety of residents in border areas and heightens military tensions on the Korean Peninsula."
Spokesperson Hwang added, "Although we need to continue monitoring North Korea's movements, the suspension of loudspeaker broadcasts between the two Koreas marks a first step toward rebuilding trust. Who exactly benefits from these illegal leaflet distributions that only serve to increase military tensions?"
She continued, "We must put an end to 'Yoon Suk Yeol-style security,' which holds the lives and safety of the people hostage for political gain and escalates military tensions. This could cause a serious crisis not only in the stock market, exchange rates, foreign exchange market, and financial markets, but also in the real economy."
She further demanded, "The relevant authorities must promptly review laws such as the Aviation Safety Management Act, Disaster Safety Act, and High-Pressure Gas Safety Management Act regarding the illegal actions of private organizations, and take strict action."
